The Advanced Self-Defense Retreat is designed exclusively for graduates of the Model Mugging Basic Course who want to continue building the confidence, judgment, and practical capability they began developing during their initial training.

Over three immersive days, you’ll expand your skills through realistic training involving armed assailants, multiple attackers, home defense concepts, and advanced decision-making. Working alongside experienced instructors in a small-group setting, you’ll continue learning how to recognize changing threats, evaluate your options, and respond effectively under pressure.

Your tuition includes an optional fourth day of training on Monday, November 16. Join us for additional scenario work, coaching, open training, and extra practice. Attendance is completely optional and free for all Advanced Course attendees.

Please do NOT book flights until coordinating with Model Mugging staff for transportation purposes.

• Progressive scenario training against armed assailants.

Prerequisite

This retreat is open exclusively to graduates of the Model Mugging Basic Course.

Every exercise builds upon the skills and principles learned in the Basic Course, allowing instructors to immediately begin advanced scenario training without spending valuable time reviewing foundational material.

Your registration includes:

• Three days of advanced instruction and realistic scenario training (plus an optional fourth training day).

Frequently Asked Questions

Q – I finished the Basic Course a while ago — can I still attend?
A – Yes. However, you must have completed the Model Mugging Basic Course in 2002 or later.

Q – Can I attend on my own?
A – Yes. Most graduates attend individually and train alongside the small group
for the full retreat.

Q – Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?
A – Yes, we will provide a form two weeks before the course.

Q – What airport should I fly into?
A – Harry Reid International Airport (Las Vegas, NV). Airport transportation to and from the retreat location is included in tuition. Do NOT book flights until coordination has been made with Model Mugging staff.

Q – What should I pack?
A – A packing list will be emailed to you with pre-class instructions two weeks before the retreat.

Q – Will I have a private room or a roommate?
A – Rooms will be assigned upon arrival. In most cases you will have a private room.

Q – How does this compare in intensity to the Basic Course?
A – Most of the foundational preparation was completed during your Basic Course. The Advanced Course is more fluid and variable, allowing you to apply those skills in increasingly complex scenarios.
